Mobile phones have a variety of screen sizes and ratios. These need to be taken into account by developers when creating apps and games, there are three major screen ratio categories:
QVGA
QVGA or Quarter Video Graphics Array is a popular ratio, often used with smaller mobile phones, PDAs and game consoles. 320 x240 is the typical QVGA screen size.
QVGA Phones include:
Samsung Galaxy 5, Galaxy fit, Galaxy Gio, Galaxy Mini/Pop, Sony Ericson Xperia mini 10, Mini Pro.
HVGA
HVGA or Half Size VGA come in 480x320, 480x360, 480x272 or 640x240 pixel varieties. HVGA is the most common mobile phone ratio.

WVGA
Finally, WVGA is the full sized ratio, typically for tablets.
